Simon is a Policy Analyst for the South Carolina Policy Council. He joined the organization in June 2010, and works on multiple policy issues ranging from education, personal freedom and to state spending. He is currently participating Koch Associate Program 2010-2011, a one-year fellowship based out of Washington DC. The Program was established to identify up-and-coming leaders and entrepreneurs interested in liberty and help them develop the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for careers with market-oriented think tanks, policy institutes, and other non-profit organizations. Prior to South Carolina Policy Council, he taught secondary mathematics at Terry Parker High School (Go Braves!) at Jacksonville, FL for two years as a Teach For America Charter Corps Member. He also worked at the Partnership for Public Service in the capacity of research fellow, Gainesville Technology Enterprise Center as a business consultant and Florida Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company as an associate director of education. Simon is from Hong Kong and south Florida. He graduated from University of Florida (and a huge fan of the Gators!) with a Bachelor in Business Administration with a major in economics and concentrations in financial accounting, statistics and communication studies. He enjoys running, cycling, swimming, traveling, cultural discovery, helping others and reading.
