Silver Screen Classics

Australia

Classic film has captivated me since I was a child. The silvers, chromes and black and white images were (and still are) like poetry to me. My love and passion for classic film has grown over the years and I am always learning more. So I feel compelled to write about the films I love and the films I have discovered. Certainly no expert but undeniably a fan, by writing I aim to not only channel my feelings and thoughts about classic film but learn as I do. There's plenty of difference regarding what people define as classic film but there is consensus as well. For me, classic film includes the formative years of the silent era right up to the 1960s. Does that mean that anything after the 1960s are not classics? Certainly not - I can think of many films that can announce themselves as classics. But my focus is on films created during the oft-called 'golden years of Hollywood'. Your views, comments and responses are appreciated and I hope you will at least be respectful when and if you do leave a comment. At the end of the day, we are all united by a love of film and we should celebrate that.
