Hi Y'all, Rock-it Ruby here! Born & raised in Southern California, I settled with my dear hubby in Long Beach in 2005. Fair of skin & red of hair, I've never fit the California girl ideal. I've never fit in much anywhere for that matter, but I'm trying to embrace my strangeness and just be. I'm fascinated with alternate history and the many varying incarnations of the dystopian post apocalyptic future. I love stompy black boots, Converse, and post apocalyptic fashion. I gravitate toward plaid and rich colors, horizontal stripes and radioactive orange. I could eat nachos, chili fries, or biscuits & gravy any time of the day, but opt to eat organically & gluten/sugar/lactose free instead. I love grey rainy days, but not gloomy foggy ones. That dusky time of day between sundown and full dark freaks me out; I feel like I'm the last person on earth. I hate traffic, but empty streets make me fear the impending zombie apocalypse. I'm a raging book nerd, and hold library cards in one city and two counties. When I'm not working, you can find me tearing through books (mostly urban fantasy and neo noir), playing video games with the hubby, or attempting to knit something cool. I change my hair style as often as my clothes. But I'm still trying to master my temper and my perfectionism with deep breathing...and occasionally a rocket launcher!
