Born an English Midlander, and remained so throughout my education and career, but post-retirement moved to the Isle of Bute, in the Western Isles of Scotland, and now self-identify as Scottish. Apart from involvement in various local groups and societies, I spend my time reading, hill-walking, running, baking, and attempting to improve my proficiency as an origamist. And cats are nice (or so my cat Kenneth tells me).
