Matthew Oldford

Matthew Oldford, born in 1980 in Canada, is a prominent entrepreneur, real estate investor, and developer, best known as the founder of Matty Renos. This residential renovation construction company is celebrated for its seamless design-build process, acute attention to detail, and the use of high-quality products. He is also recognized as a Chief Financial Planner (CFP). Starting his career at age 22, after attending Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), he ventured into construction by working under a local builder. Despite having no prior experience, he quickly learned the intricacies of building systems and the methodologies applicable to both residential and commercial construction. He later utilized this experience at a coastal roofing company, where he swiftly ascended to a managerial position, handling project quotations ranging from $20,000 to $250,000. In 2007, he returned to NSCC to further his education in investment management, earning accreditations that included the Canadian Securities Course and Life License Qualification Program. He subsequently worked at Scotiabank as a Financial Planner and a Mobile Mortgage Specialist until 2017 before returning to construction. He joined the Laborer's International Union of North America as a foreman, overseeing 10 to 15 employees. In 2018, leveraging his financial expertise and construction experience, he founded Matty Renos. He began by converting a residential property into an Airbnb, which turned out to be highly successful. This initial success spurred further ventures, including the transformation of a single-family home into a duplex and then into a triplex, intensifying his reputation within the local market. His firm, Matty Renos, offers a comprehensive range of residential renovation services, including complete home remodels, kitchen and bathroom renovations, and custom carpentry. His business is distinguished by a commitment to understanding clients' needs and visions, ensuring high-quality outcomes that consistently satisfy their expectations. Outside of his professional life, he is dedicated to his family, enjoys reading and golf, and maintains his health through regular yoga and exercise. He is also an active volunteer with Feed Nova Scotia, helping distribute food to those in need across the province.
