Great Minds Think

Welcome to The Great Minds Think Challenge Every Friday, we throw a perfectly innocent idea into the room…and wait to see what strange, beautiful, hilarious, heartbreaking, philosophical, mildly unhinged things emerge from it. A sentence, a word, a quote, a photograph, an impossible situation, a tiny spark capable of causing complete literary chaos. This is not homework. This is a playground for over thinkers, storytellers, poets, dreamers, plot-twisters, accidental philosophers, midnight writers, and people who open Word documents “just for five minutes” and emerge emotionally transformed three hours later. Here’s how it works: Every Friday, we issue one writing challenge. You have one week to respond. No rules on genre. No rules on style. You can be profound, funny, eerie, absurd, poetic, dark, whimsical, or gloriously strange. Flash fiction? Tiny tale? Existential comedy? A story narrated by a haunted toaster? We encourage bad decisions creatively. Some weeks may begin with a mysterious sentence. Some with three impossible words. Some with a literary quote. Some may simply ask: “What if gravity forgot its job for ten minutes?” The only requirement is this: Write something that surprises even you. The deadline for submissions is the following Friday, when a brand-new challenge appears and the cycle of literary mischief begins again. So sharpen your pencils. Charge your laptops. Summon your inner chaos goblin. And join us. Welcome to the experiment.
