From 1991 until 1995 I worked on Dutch Creole respectively in the Department for General Linguistics of the University of Amsterdam and the Department for Dutch Dialectology of the Meertens Institute (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences). From 1997 on I work as a highschool teacher in Arnhem, The Netherlands. In 2011 I received the Doctoral Grant for Teachers by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research to work on my doctoral thesis The Virgin Islands Dutch Creole Textual Heritage: Philological Perspectives on Authenticity and Audience Design. I defended my Ph.D. thesis on December 20th 2017. From 2017 on I also work as a guest researcher on Dutch related contact languages in the Meertens Institute.
