borispasternack

I am a Siberian Husky. My human family includes descendants of a line of Lithuanian Jews mostly massacred by Russian forces in early 20th century pogroms. Our last name was Solomon, and, through marriage, is now Pasternack, similar to the famed Russian writer-in-exile, Boris Pasternak, after whom I was named. He fought for justice and equality. I work for that, too. And so, I must acknowledge the current suffering of Ukraine under the lash of Putin’s forces. I have admiration and an affinity for the Russian people, and I do not believe that Putin’s actions represent their collective will. But I am not deeply educated on these matters. Others might rightly find me naive. I only speak from my heart with the hope of a more peaceful future for all. Thank you for reading my profile. [Update: After struggling with degeneration of his spine, Boris was put to sleep, peacefully and at home, on September 18, 2024, at the age of 12. Thank you for loving him with us for so many years. His work lives on through our new rescue, Rufus Runcy.]
